BurdaMedia Extra was founded in 1991. Over the course of more than twenty years of operation, we have gradually become one of the most prestigious publishing houses and rank among the most important players on the Czech media market. We are also part of the international Hubert Burda Media Group, which operates in 20 countries and employs over 10,000 people.

Adaptation process
Immediately after joining, you will get to know your closest colleagues and all the necessary processes. In order to make your first moments in your new job easier, you will attend an orientation day where you will be introduced to the workings of the publishing house. For selected positions we have prepared an individual adaptation plan.

Selection procedure
The process of each selection procedure may vary depending on the type of job, i.e. the specific job, responsibilities, professional qualifications, etc.
Pre-selection
After collecting CVs, we assess candidates' profiles according to the requirements of the positions to be filled. Candidates who best match our requirements are first contacted by the HR department via a short telephone interview. The pre-selection process may include the preparation of a case study, which is then presented by the candidate in a personal interview.
Personal interviews
Successful candidates are invited to personal interviews. Depending on the type of position to be filled, this part of the selection process is usually two rounds. During the personal interview, you will always meet with the head of the department and an HR representative. The personal interview may also include the completion of an independent assignment, testing of hard/soft skills or language skills. In the case of managerial positions, candidates will meet with CEO Petra Fonda at the end of the selection process.
Closure of the selection process
The successful candidate is notified by telephone of the job offer. Upon acceptance, the successful candidate receives a letter of intent, or written job offer, which summarises all the terms and conditions that were negotiated as part of the selection process. After mutual acceptance of the letter of intent, a contract and accompanying documentation is then prepared. Candidates who are not selected are informed of the outcome of the selection procedure by telephone or e-mail within one week of the conclusion of the selection procedure. After approval has been granted, the candidate's profile can be included in an internal database of potential candidates who are contacted as a matter of priority if a suitable position is found within BurdaMedia Extra.
